Correction...The term of choice was McShame...
Had he won in 08 it would certainly have been a shame.
As far as the Trumpcare defeat goes... McCain is a useful scoundrel in the battle to keep America's morality on a par with the rest of humanity.
I have never, and will never regard him as a "leftist hero".

McCain was the only (singular, no others) individual to object to the NEOCON desire to torture soldiers which would be putting our boys at risk of torture.

I wanted McCain to win the nomination in 2000. I'm confident we'd be in a much different place had that happened.
