june 19 2016 Omar Mateen bought nearly $9,000 worth of jewelry less than a week before he killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, ABC News has learned.

The purchase was made June 6 at the Kay Jewelers in Jensen Beach, Florida, which is near the Lotus Gun Shop where Mateen attempted to buy body armor.

Signet, which owns Kay Jewelers, would not confirm the purchase by Mateen, but issued a statement that they are "working closely with the authorities."

I heard he put all this on credit. Like he maxed out everything sold his house to his sister for a hundred bucks i think and gave all these away. After all he was not going to have to pay for it and usually the debt ends with you particularly if you have no estate (like if the house is under somebody elses name). Jewelry holds its value to and is easy to resell.

So... the mental ill argument is really falling apart with this level of premeditation.

Actually jewelry doesn't resell very well. Raw diamonds are practically worthless and the jewelers form a cartel to keep the price of retail jewelry at a very high price. You lose about 80% of its value the moment you buy it and walk out of the store.
