Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) claims she is willing to "lean into" the brewing "civil war" within the GOP as members grovel over the speaker's gavel.


While maintaining the likely House GOP slugfest is a critical battle to steer the party toward Trump-aligned America First policies, Greene also cautioned against a reactionary push against House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for GOP ‘civil war’ after midterms failure


The GOP appears to be in open revolt after the Republican “red wave” failed to materialise in last week’s midterm elections.

House member Andy Biggs, a member of the GOP’s far-right Freedom Caucus like Ms Greene, is seeking to challenge Mr McCarthy for the leadership, according to reports in Politico.


Ms Greene also warned that some House Republicans could break away from the party and join Democrats to elect outgoing Congresswoman Liz Cheney to the Speaker’s chair.

Pretty obvious Trump has solicited her to do his bidding fighting to keep Kevin in power, he owns McCarthy, and the last thing Donnie wants is someone not up his ass running the House

She's past news to the GOP. It's shit like that that lost them the Senate last week and might lose them the house.

Kind of off-topic, but I was just thinking the MAGA reaction to the Pelosi attack might have actually had a nominal effect on the vote. Again, I think last week proved people are sick of that shit.

I don't think he owns McCarthy anymore unless trump has something on him. McCarthy has sold his soul to be Speaker. Turning his back on twump would be easy for him. Kevin has zero convictions.

He stills own him, Trump dictates to the Freedom Caucus, and without their support, he ain’t being Speaker, once installed, Kevin will do whatever Trump wants or he’ll stick the little Jimmy Jordans on him to make his life miserable

You don't think, after their poor at the polls last week, the Freedom Caucus will abandon twump as well? You know Mo Brooks, the flack-jacket wearing 1/6 rally inciter has already denounced trump. I think many more will follow.

No, they know in six months that Trump will be out and in front of the GOP Presidential race, especially if he declares tomorrow, and that the rest of the party will soon put the 2022 election behind them.

If there is one given with the right, no matter what he does or says, cheats people with Trump U, “grabs pussy,” lies to Americans on Covid, cheats on a pregnant wife with a porn star, tries to overthrow the Gov’t, etc., they’ll never dump Trump, as long as he owns the base, Trump owns the GOP

If he runs again, and they don't "dump twump", he will take the GOP down. There is no downside I can see for the Democrats if twump runs.

Oh they will support him, they lack the courage not to support him, and as much as I hope he does run for the obvious reasons, don’t forget, the same was said of him prior to 2015.

If Mother Theresa was alive and ran as the Democrat candidate the in 2024 the House GOP along with the right wing media would have her portrayed as the Wicked Witch of the West, creating rationale for the famous, “I don’t like Trump but saw him as the lesser evil” excuse we see so often

Trump is losing his base. The only break he has is in primaries, his 25 percent base wins in a crowded field. If he has only one or 2 contenders, he is vulnerable. Of course, he has a few court cases that will take up his time.
