Mar-a-Lago a magnet for spies, officials warn after nuclear file reportedly found

Former intelligence chiefs say national security officials are ‘shaking their heads at what damage might have been done'

Mar-a-Lago – the Palm Beach resort and residence where Donald Trump reportedly stored nuclear secrets among a trove of highly classified documents for 18 months since leaving the White House – is a magnet for foreign spies, former intelligence officials have warned.

The Washington Post reported that a document describing an unspecified foreign government’s defences, including its nuclear capabilities, was one of the many highly secret papers Trump took away from the White House when he left office in January 2021

There were also documents marked SAP, for Special-Access Programmes, which are often about US intelligence operations and whose circulation is severely restricted, even among administration officials with top security clearance.

Potentially most disturbing of all, there were papers stamped HCS, Humint Control Systems, involving human intelligence gathered from agents in enemy countries, whose lives would be in danger if their identities were compromised.

I have no doubt he sold access to these documents

Wealth is the only thing he values

I am withholding judgment on his motivation for taking the government's top secrets to his Florida hotel resort, until I have more information.

I’m not

His entire life history informs my opinion

He invited Russians into the Oval Office the second he could for one example

IMO it's because he's exactly what Dr. Mary Trump said he was...in layman's terms, a fucking nutjob.

Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist, wrote in her new book "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man," that she believes her uncle suffers from multiple personality disorders.

"I have no problem calling Donald a narcissist — he meets all nine criteria. But the label gets us only so far," she wrote. "A case could be made that he also meets the criteria for antisocial personality disorder, which in its most severe forms is generally considered sociopathy but can also refer to chronic criminality, arrogance, and disregard for the rights of others…. Donald may also meet some of the criteria for dependent personality disorder, the hallmarks of which include an inability to make decisions or take responsibility, discomfort with being alone, and going to excessive lengths to obtain support from others."

She went on to suggest that Trump has a "long-undiagnosed learning disability that for decades interfered with his ability to process information."

Bandy X. Lee, a forensic psychiatrist at Yale School of Medicine and a former research fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health, told Salon that she has been warning about exactly this since Trump's election. Lee suggested that Trump's recent deployment of federal forces to cities like Portland and Chicago was intended to distract from questions over his mental fitness.

"We know what Donald Trump is doing in dispatching federal forces into cities by what he did at the last election when he sent 5,600 active military troops to the southern border because of an 'invasion' by a migrant caravan: he is turning a non-concern into a campaign issue in order to distract from the real issues," she said in an interview. "What are the real issues? That his expert niece just exposed that he is mentally incapable of leading and is committing mass murder — what we independently said since a year ago, based on a standardized assessment, and since a month ago, because of his mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic."

A magnet for both spies and customers. LOL

Imagine all those pictures took by them.

Hell. On day one, trump made the White House guest list a secret.

The oval office was a magnet for spies.

"WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Chinese woman recently arrested at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago club lied repeatedly to Secret Service agents while carrying computer malware unlike anything a government analyst had ever seen and had more than $8,000 in cash at her hotel room, along with an electronic device that detects hidden cameras, federal authorities told a judge Monday."

If anyone can propose a different motivation, besides paper for starting a wood fire, let’s hear it.

It might be that he's simply insane, but I think he's only crazy enough to think he can sell them for profit and get away with it.

I remember that well. And that's a person that got caught. We can only imagine who was able to gain access as a staffer for some wedding.

Notwithstanding the fact that trump more than likely invited plenty of bidders into his office.

For $200k, any spy can get access to trump. Of course they are all doing that.

For two years, he left those documents unprotected in Mar A Lago as he spent summers at another failing golf course.

Did he plot to allow the highest bidder access to said documents while he was absent? Plausible deniability?

I don't think Trump is mentally stable, that's why I am hesitant to assign motivation for him stealing the government's top secrets. I could speculate as to half a dozen reasons, but I can't be certain of any of them.

As a general rule, when a person declares they're the most stable person in a room, they are often among the least stable. What sane person plots a coup? Steals hundreds of classified documents and treats them like magazines stolen from a doctor's office?

A Provocative Psychological Analysis of Trump by a Trump
Having a depleted, absent mom and a sociopathic father left Donald lacking any model for empathy, vulnerability, and reciprocity. In fact, such qualities were dangerous in the Trump family. Empathy had no value or upside. “My uncle does not understand that he or anybody else has intrinsic worth,” she writes.

What mattered in the Trump family was wielding power and making money. Of utmost importance was gaining Fred’s approval, which was capriciously given and unevenly applied.

Donald Trump chose to mimic his father: shunning neediness, suppressing most emotions, and bullying and humiliating others while taking credit for both his and others’ successes. Admitting failure or fault would be seen as intolerable acts of weakness.

This cascade from childhood deprivation and over-empowerment to an adulthood personality disorder that Mary Trump describes is all too familiar to therapists who, like myself, work with narcissists....

...Mary Trump says that based on her lifetime observations of him from both near and far, President Trump meets all nine of the DSM-V characteristics of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

In addition, she writes, Donald Trump may also have antisocial and dependent personality disorder traits along with possible learning disorders that can affect mood, behavior, and cognition.

As therapists, we know that hiding and denying deep feelings of early abandonment and shame can exact a terrible toll.

Rage can seethe. Fear and sadness are denied. Other people may be viewed as disposable. A ravenous hunger for approval, to compensate for the emptiness within, may gnaw, unquenchably, 24/7.
