Man shoots himself in face while loading groceries outside west-side H-E-B, police say

SAN ANTONIO — A man shot himself in the face while in the parking lot of a west-side H-E-B Tuesday morning, authorities say.
San Antonio police responded to the 2100 block of Culebra Road around 11:30 a.m.
Police say a 22-year-old man was putting groceries into a vehicle when a gun went off.
Authorities say the man sustained a gunshot wound to the face and say it was self-inflicted. The wound was non-life threatening.
Police say the man's mother was also in the car at the time of the incident but was not injured.
Authorities are unsure if the gun was owned by the man and continue to investigate the shooting.
