Right, because a gun pointed at the bottom of my pocket is a danger to you. Maybe the guy pulled a gun because the guy threatened him while he was "cursing".

Seriously, what is your malfunction? The old man was punched. He fought back with overwhelming force, but who hits anybody whom they:
1. Know is armed.
2. Is eleventy-billion years old?

I was taught to respect my elders, even whey they are crotchety.

Give it a rest. Just because he owned a gun doesn't make him a bad man. Crotchety and anal about his lawn maybe, but "evil" or "bad"? No.

This may just result in a large group of 20 something year olds, rethinking how they behave and this could result in them also reaching the age of being a great grandfather.
