Major reason why we have low unemployment and millions of unfilled jobs

There has to be a reason for that dichotomy, and there is.

Back in 1996, Bill Clinton and Republicans in Congress passed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act. It forced people on welfare, food stamps, and the like to actively seek work and job training or lose their benefits. Millions of people went to work who were previously on welfare.

Then came Fauci Plague. Democrats in Congress unilaterally passed spending packages that included a complete suspension of those requirements because of the pandemic. They have left those suspensions in place, even as Fauci Plague recedes. So, millions of indolent and lazy are on welfare and given no incentive to go to work or re-enter the workforce. There are even some Republicans, like RINO Romney, that are onboard with this.

A party (Democrats) that previously quaked in fear of being caricatured as a gang of tax-and-spend liberals is fearful no more. In Washington, government handouts are respectable again.

Covid-19 relief bill suspends SNAP work and training requirements

Thus, we have a badly underutilized workforce where many at the lower end have no incentive to work and every incentive to sit on their ass and collect a welfare check. This has resulted in low official unemployment while the labor utilization rate (employment rate) has remained flat. We need to end these suspensions and make these lazy assed people go back to work.

without checking your reasearch ( and you are good at that) I agree
why work when you dont even have to look for a job?

the 1 time i was on unemployment insurance we had to look for work and turn that info in

Dems dont GAF about the country or fraud - i have no prof but i wonder how many arent even entitled?

This is why we are having shortages -our GDP is falling

Our labor participation rate is getting worse.

1,000,000 people have died of COVID, many of them essential workers, that has greatly affected the worker pool

Another, people retiring

Another, people becoming self employed

Another, immigration

These factors have had a greater effect than what you mention.

How does that explain low unemployment rates and positions sitting empty?

If they're retired, self employed, or dead then they're not unemployed and in the labor pool. Immigration? Yes illegals do take American jobs and drive down wages making it less likely for Americans to take a low paying job.

And why do immigrants take the jobs?

What a shock. The JPP Nazi thinks it's welfare that has lead people to stop looking for work. Weird, because we've never had this situation before Ever.

it was JUST EXPLAINED

Unemployment only counts workers looking to work
The labor participation rate is dropping

there are less available workers because they dont want to work - too EZ to collect a check

Of course there are also retirees , and those truly scared of COVID who did other things

But this coupled with the drop in GDP means we are not producing enough goods and service
and instead are relying on imports
And those are subject to supply chain kinks

And why do immigrants take the jobs?

Freespeech is wrong again. What a shock. The labor pool consists of all adults over the age of 16. That's the basis of the labor participation rate. Oops. He should have read something about this. Maybe they can make a picture book just for him. Of course his argument is not supported by the facts. There are more jobs open right now than there have been in decades. So there are plenty of jobs for Americans. All kinds of them.

Because for you to be counted in the U30 (the unemployment rate usually cited) you have to actively be unemployed and looking for work. If you are not actively looking for a job you don't count as unemployed under it. So, if you have lots of people taking welfare benefits and they aren't looking for a job, but are employable, they don't count as "unemployed" under the U30. That's how you end up with low unemployment and a low labor participation rate resulting in lots of jobs that nobody is applying for.

We used to from roughly the 70's to the 90's when you weren't required to actively look for a job or lose welfare benefits. Then, from about the early 90's to the 2010's labor participation went up some and unemployment stayed low mostly because there was a drop in welfare recipients. With Obama and the Democrats they loosened some of those laws and then along came Fauci Plague and the Democrats dumped the work / training requirements entirely.

The result is if someone knows they can make say, $2000 a month on welfare, and if they got a low end job their take home after taxes and such were $1800 for the month, which would they choose, getting a job or staying on welfare?

Over SIX MILLION fewer workers in the workforce compared to before the ChinaDem bio-attack and mandated shutdowns.

We are NOWHERE NEAR "CREATING JOBS"....

Even your articles admit that the limits on Welfare have not been changed. Tax credits require work.

We have had nothing but job creation since Biden came to office. We are 2 million (not 6 million) less than when trump failed, but that can also be explained by more people retiring. If you add job openings to employed people, and you get the highest number ever.

Don’t forget dying of COVID, over a million now.
