this does look like excessive waste/ poor use of funding. are there goals for the palace? ( prestige/legitimacy of government -ability to host international delegations- leaders) ..OK sure.

If that is the case, then one need only look at all the hypocritical, pocking lining actions of the leaderships of EVERY free nation in the world over the last 60 years to see that the Palestinians are not the lone sufferers. Last year Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu submitted plans for a joint office-residence complex in Jerusalem. The property was recently approved by government and is set to cost $188 million.

A large villa - halted due to lack of funds- as a government facility for the reception of foreign visitors. Not a palace, not for Abbas. A busted propaganda pump.


Now then- Netanyahu's ' palace ' is termed a ' joint office-residence complex '- it's to cost $188 million dollars of US taxpayers money and it's not even being built in Israeli territory !
