Because there's no good reason to purposely target and kill civilians just because they happen to be Iranian.

That attack (while Hamas was the puppet on the string) ultimately stems back to Iran, so Iran is who ultimately needs to be dealt with regarding that attack.

Yes. People generally don't wish to see innocent civilians suffering. With that being said, plenty of people WILL make exceptions for certain groups of innocent civilians who they HATE (whether that be Israelis, Iranians, Christians, MAGA supporters, Afrikaners, etc etc...)
