An ultra-conservative radio host attacked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday, saying that his sick wife is unable to receive a COVID-19 vaccination because of the policies of the secretary of health and human services.

Erick Erickson, an influential conservative talk show host, re-posted a New York Times article about declining availability for the COVID vaccine at pharmacies, and said his wife is one of the people affected.

My wife has Stage 4 lung cancer. She is one of the people the COVID vaccine actually helps. Thanks to the current mess at HHS, CVS is unable to get her the vaccine. https://t.co/ZqCZwxwa57

Blue Massachusetts, New Mexico and purple Nevada have STATE LAWS that prohibit pharmacies from giving it but her doctor will be glad to give her one

The Food and Drug Administration has approved vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax for all seniors, but only for younger adults and children with health conditions.
I can't get Covid shots anymore, and may not be able to get them again... In the USA. I guess I am going to have to travel to save my life.

In a statement, CVS said the pharmacy chain cannot vaccinate those even with a prescription in Massachusetts, Nevada and New Mexico due to state laws and regulations.

"Based on the current regulatory environment," CVS said it's offering COVID-19 vaccinations in the following states: Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Erickson should call his wife's oncologist and have him call a prescription into CVS then they could give his wife a vaccine. He is basically whining about nothing.

Yes, many states have laws that refer to what the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices(ACIP) is ruling. So if the ACIP says that the vaccines are limited, the state laws require doctors to approve. It also means that pharmacies are limited in what they can do, based all on ACIP.

It was all working fine, and then Kennedy decided to replace all the scientists on the ACIP with conspiracy theorists. Now all the states have to change their laws to no longer defer to the ACIP. No one really knows what to replace the ACIP with. There is talk of having the normal states band together to create some sort of replacement to the ACIP.

Once again, the state laws are based on Federal ruling which is in turn based on Kennedy's decision to put a huge number of conspiracy theorists on the ACIP.

Why, are they not giving them to retards anymore.

Walter are you over 65?
No, which is requiring me to possibly have to go to Canada where it will still be legal for me to get the vaccine. Canada, or any other country on Earth. Kennedy is out of sync with the rest of humanity on this one.

Before Kennedy replaced everyone on the ACIP with conspiracy theorists, it did not require a prescription, and anyone could get it. Now it is requiring a prescription, and even then it is just a maybe, someday.

A lot of people are going to die over this. To me that does not seem to be nothing.

COVID vaccines is not without risks. It is best to consult your personal Doctor before receiving one.

Nothing is without risk, but Covid-19 has been found to be of extremely low risk by the entire world. Kennedy is the only major health leader to disagree, and to require months of work just to get a Covid vaccine shot. Maybe Kennedy is smarter than everyone else, but he did have a brain worm, so probably not.

Sounds like we are adopting the European model Walter.

Vinay Prasad, M.D., M.P.H., and Martin A. Makary, M.D., M.P.H.

Over the past 5 years, the United States has moved toward an annual Covid-19 booster program. Each fall, Covid-19 booster shots are developed, alongside seasonal influenza vaccines, and are recommended for every American. As compared with vaccination policies in all European nations, the U.S. policy has been the most aggressive While all other high-income nations confine vaccine recommendations to older adults (typically those older than 65 years of age), or those at high risk for severe Covid-19, the United States has adopted a one-size-fits-all regulatory framework and has granted broad marketing authorization to all Americans over the age of 6 months. The U.S. policy has sometimes been justified by arguing that the American people are not sophisticated enough to understand age- and risk-based recommendations.

The model of allowing people to get Covid vaccine shots is the European, North American, Asian, South American, Australian, and all the islands not included in continents model.... It used to be the American model too.

Clearly Kennedy changed the rules. If you feel you can defend that, you should. Claiming it is the state's fault, or the people's fault is not defending Kennedy's actions.

But Europe has the same rules. Yes RFK Jr. Recognizes that in healthy young adults and children COVID vaccines are not that needed.

But Europe has the same rules.
I have a friend in Germany who got off a train, and was immediately offered a Covid vaccine at the train station.

I cannot get a Covid vaccine in Pennsylvania at all.

This is not the rules in Europe.

Yes RFK Jr. Recognizes that in healthy young adults and children COVID vaccines are not that needed.
We are allowing a man with a worm in his brain to make health decisions about what is needed. There is no European country that would do that.
