An ultra-conservative radio host attacked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday, saying that his sick wife is unable to receive a COVID-19 vaccination because of the policies of the secretary of health and human services.

Erick Erickson, an influential conservative talk show host, re-posted a New York Times article about declining availability for the COVID vaccine at pharmacies, and said his wife is one of the people affected.

Blue Massachusetts, New Mexico and purple Nevada have STATE LAWS that prohibit pharmacies from giving it but her doctor will be glad to give her one

The Food and Drug Administration has approved vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax for all seniors, but only for younger adults and children with health conditions.

In a statement, CVS said the pharmacy chain cannot vaccinate those even with a prescription in Massachusetts, Nevada and New Mexico due to state laws and regulations.

Erickson should call his wife's oncologist and have him call a prescription into CVS then they could give his wife a vaccine. He is basically whining about nothing.

Yes, many states have laws that refer to what the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices(ACIP) is ruling. So if the ACIP says that the vaccines are limited, the state laws require doctors to approve. It also means that pharmacies are limited in what they can do, based all on ACIP.

It was all working fine, and then Kennedy decided to replace all the scientists on the ACIP with conspiracy theorists. Now all the states have to change their laws to no longer defer to the ACIP. No one really knows what to replace the ACIP with. There is talk of having the normal states band together to create some sort of replacement to the ACIP.

Before Kennedy replaced everyone on the ACIP with conspiracy theorists, it did not require a prescription, and anyone could get it. Now it is requiring a prescription, and even then it is just a maybe, someday.

A lot of people are going to die over this. To me that does not seem to be nothing.

Nothing is without risk, but Covid-19 has been found to be of extremely low risk by the entire world. Kennedy is the only major health leader to disagree, and to require months of work just to get a Covid vaccine shot. Maybe Kennedy is smarter than everyone else, but he did have a brain worm, so probably not.

The model of allowing people to get Covid vaccine shots is the European, North American, Asian, South American, Australian, and all the islands not included in continents model.... It used to be the American model too.

Clearly Kennedy changed the rules. If you feel you can defend that, you should. Claiming it is the state's fault, or the people's fault is not defending Kennedy's actions.

But Europe has the same rules. Yes RFK Jr. Recognizes that in healthy young adults and children COVID vaccines are not that needed.

I have a friend in Germany who got off a train, and was immediately offered a Covid vaccine at the train station.

I cannot get a Covid vaccine in Pennsylvania at all.

This is not the rules in Europe.

We are allowing a man with a worm in his brain to make health decisions about what is needed. There is no European country that would do that.
