Lyin' Ted steals Wednesday

I was just coming here to post about this! Do you believe this shit? The drama, omg. I am still laughing picturing the faces of Trump's son and I think his wife, the son was shaking with rage. Then Trump walks in WWE style, holy shit. Cruz booed of the stage. Ivanka, well after getting a look at that face tonight you know you do not want to turn your back on her if you are Ted Cruz.

I have never seen anything like this, this is without a doubt the most entertaining convention I have ever seen. I mean, it's not a political convention of course. It's something between a lynch mob, a WWE match and the real housewives of NJ, but it's awesome.

It's already exceeded my expectations - and Trump hasn't even spoken yet. I have a feeling that's going to be a really memorable capper.

Cruz was just loving it tonight. What a spectacle. The Democrats have to falling over themselves laughing.

Trump's face as Eric is speaking is priceless, he loves hearing about himself. Now Eric is talking about himself and repeating his adjective, just like dear old dad.

So I'm listening to my left wing radio on the way home and they claimed Cruz endorsed Trump. Doesn't seem to have happened.

I remember hearing reports that it took over an hour to calm people down when Reagan was put into the pool for nomination in 1976... During that convention there was far more argument. The idea that today's love-fests have been the norm is interesting to me.

Oh no, no way. Did not happen, he got booed off the stage. But you have to see the video, Trump himself stepped in the arena it really was like WWE, and that is what got Cruz off the stage. It was awesome.

well this one is certainly not scripted! It's cool to see some bare knuckles politics.
Cruz gives me the creeps - and much of his speech I don't agree with; him being Tea Party.
But I did like his call to act our conscience ..I'm a sucker for patriotism. even when it's worn on one's sleeve :)

Eric Trump was pretty good. I'm starting to really like the kids.
The line about Oprah asking years if Trump would ever run for POTUS.. "Only if I have to!"
 
Missing the mark as usual. This helped solidify conservative support behind trump. A lot of former Cruz supporters are disgusted with him now, the guy that managed his campaign in Indiana says he regrets supporting Cruz. Other conservatives and even big cruz supporters are calling it political suicide. CNN just did a poll of undecideds and none of them liked what Cruz did. People feel Cruz should have stuck by his pledge or not showed up at all. He took conservatives that were meh on Trump and finally gave them a reason to feel sympathetic to Trump. Cruz pissed his own anti-establishment conservative contingent off and have firmly pushed them into trump's corner.

Trump also apparently knew that Cruz did not plan to endorse him. Trump knew that but still let him make his speech.

The party largely came together tonight, thanks to Ted Cruz.

On a night when the media should be talking about the GOP candidate for VP, every single network is now absolutely obsessed with Boos Cruz. It's all anyone has talked about since the convention ended tonight.

I'm sure that's exactly what the GOP wanted. Great call, Grind. It's all falling together for them beautifully this week.

How could I not see it?

Are you aware it was the NY delegation that started whipping up the boos choreographed perfectly to when Trump made his entrance into the hall? Trump didn't have to let him speak. He knew he wasn't going to be endorsed.

The entire convention hall was unified for trump and against cruz. What cruz did, did not play well to cruz's base, and they are more likely to fall into Trumps fold now.

The media is always going to focus on whatever juicy thing happened in the short term. In the long term though the meh trump supporters and the cruz contingent are more likely to be in trump's corner now.
 
I don't think I could possibly love any more that you think Trump is this genius who orchestrated this perfectly.

Grind hearts Trump.

This was a bad night, Grind. And it's been a bad convention for the GOP so far. The circus that many predicted.

I am just going by what I have seen on CNN and twitter. The cruz contingent conservatives are unified with Trump. Liberals aren't basing their decision on what cruz said. Independents did not agree or like Cruz. It ultimately benefited trump.

I guess opinions vary.

Cruz voters were voting Trump regardless. This is a SCOTUS election for them. They're not going to play around w/ that.

Trump needed this week to be pretty smooth, imo. He needed to show that he can take command of this party, and that he's more than this goofy, unhinged political sideshow. He needs to win independents.

I don't see that happening right now. This week is an unmitigated mess so far.
