Actually it's not worthless. Look what happened to Bush and the Republicans in the 2006 election. You think Bush's low poll numbers played no role in that? How effective was Bush his last two years? (answer: he wasn't) You don't think his low poll numbers played any role in that?

Sure Obama doesn't have to face re-election again but Obama surely has big goals he would like to accomplish while President. A whole lot more difficult to do when you don't have support of the country.

Take a step back and breath Desh. Not every one in America is a Democrat or Republican. There are lots of people who don't want to be associated with either party. So if Obama has low/lower poll ratings it's not just Republicans who are saying they aren't happy with him. Thus my point stands that lower poll numbers for a lame duck President can make their job of getting big things accomplished much more difficult.

It isn't worthless to you and your fellow dems if you have any hopes of taking back the House and retaining the Senate. You don't think the GOP is going to hang Obama and his low poll numbers around every dems neck running for office?

I'd give him pretty low marks at this point.

I actually do think Obama went into the Presidency w/ ideals & principles. Like everyone else in DC, he was seduced & sidetracked by huge volumes of corporate cash.

It's embarassing how our government has evolved. It's really all about the money now.

She said there is left and right. Greens are left, Libertarians are (usually) righties. Often they are embarrassed Republicans. I think I have known three liberal libertarians since I have been posting on message boards. I would say String leans liberal. Gene from the old mixed bag board was a liberal libertarian.
