After 8 years of Clinton...
I put major because there are always 100’s of small terrorist attacks that hacks like you would bring up, The same type of attacks Bush claimed to have thwarted during his time after 9-11. Some guys in Miami discussed possibly bombing a building in Miami and never took any action toward such a thing, and Bush claimed he prevented that attack.
LMAO... so the WTC bombing, The USS Cole and the two embassies were 'small' attacks? You can try to spin your way out... as I said you would... by trying to bring Bush into this.... but bottom line, you are full of shit.
Job growth was rapid in the 90’s in all sectors, not just internet/tech/telecom. President Clinton was president, and I seem to remember the Republicans shutting down the government because the Clinton Plan was going to destroy the economy, then they gave in after the government was shut down for a week or so… and the economy held strong for years after…. Funny how that happened! I am sure you will say, well that was just luck on Clinton’s part.
You have a piss poor memory then. The bulk of the job creation came in those sectors Jarod. Yes, the market as a whole did well. But again, the idiots in DC (both parties) had little to do with the market run and the economic conditions. Just as they had little to do with the recession that followed.
Look at the data, one of the smallest and shortest recessions in modern times. Even Bush says so, when he tried to take credit for ending it.
LMAO... so you are using Bush to back up your claim? Having a 'short' recession is not the same as a 'small' recession Jarod. When you add in the fact that it was the false housing boom that made it short, I think you can see how it wasn't as simple as you pretend it to be.
It was the Republicans who used to rail against “nation building” and becoming the “world’s policemen”. Remember the Powell doctrine, “if you broke it you bought it”. I also believe presidents should abide by the maxim, “first do no harm”, meaning if you can’t make a situation better, don’t get involved.
Blah blah blah... We did 'harm' by doing nothing in Rwanda, The Sudan and The Congo. While it is true that we cannot solve all of the worlds problems or conflicts, that doesn't mean we should stand by and watch a genocide occur. Something Clinton learned from... which is why we got involved in Kosovo.
How is sending troops to Hatiti and the Balkins avoiding the situations? I clearly remember when the troops went into Hatiti the Republicans crying about how we should not get involved, Hatiti is not our problem, its going to turn into a quagmire, another Vietnam… BTW, the troops went in, solved the problem, and got out without loosing a single American life. The government of Hatiti has been relatively stable since, and the flood of immigrants has slowed to a comparative trickle.
LMAO... Haiti was not a major crisis. Rwanda was. The Sudan IS. The Congo IS. Iraq IS. you do realize how small Haiti is do you not?.
They were not blowing up buildings in New York City~!
You crack me up. Saying they 'didn't blow up buildings in NYC' is not the same as saying you had them in a 'box'. For one, they did bomb the WTC in 1993. For another, it completely ignores everything they did outside of NYC.
Actually the situation has not changed much in 400 years. But there have been ebbs and flows and times when peace accords were reached and American was considered the good guy by both sides. Now the preach hate and terrorism toward the United States.
True, conflicts in the middle east have been on going for thousands of years. Thanks for proving my point. Bottom line, it was not stable under Clinton. It was a mess. Hamas and the PLO have never thought we were 'the good guy'.
"Stem Cell Research was progressing at a rapid clip."
Do enlighten us on this. What progress are you referring to? you missed this one....
"Freedom, prosperity and liberty were on the march!"
Do explain.
OK…
Personal income was high, freedom from government intrusion into private personal lives was improving at a rapid rate (gays were finally allowed to serve in the military)(women were finally allowed to go to the military academy)(the American government did not torture)(the American government did not listen into private telephone conversations)(undercover CIA agents were not outed)(Fear was not used to push Americans into supporting wars for unsubstantiated reasons)(Americans knew that if disaster struck the Government has a program that tax dollars paid for that was run by someone other than a political appointee that would help them, FEMA)
LMAO.... again you are quite humorous... Saying personal income was high is your answer? Yes, when you have an economic boom, it tends to cause labor shortages, which pushes income up. Then when you have a recession, the labor market weakens and you tend to have stagnant to declining income. Its called the business cycle.
As for gays in the military... Clinton still pushed the 'don't ask don't tell'. I would hardly call that freedom. Clinton used the same renditions that people like you whined about when done by Bush. As for women in the military acadamies... that started in the late 70's. It did not start under Clinton.
After 8 years of Bush...
Have you seen the news, since 2000 evidence existed that this Madoff scheme was going on and the SEC refused to do anything about it, over and over again.
Do YOU understand timelines? YOU just stated they knew since 2000. Who was President in 2000 Jarod??? I'll help you out... It starts with a 'Clinto'
If you also note... Just because it was 2000 that it was first pointed out to the SEC, that does not mean it shouldn't have been caught earlier than that.
So if we are going to blame Clinton, who do we blame for the Bush I recession, Regan??? Who gets the blame for Carters Recession, Nixon?
I did not blame only Clinton. I am pointing out to you that many of his policies had an effect on what we are going through today.
"The military has been gutted and humilliated by a rag tag group of "dead enders""
Definitely want to hear an explanation of the above. Who humiliated the military Jarod? I do agree that Clinton did a good job gutting the military.
Give us one example of Clinton humiliating the military? Now Bush sent them into Battle without the proper armor and in Humvees that they knew were death traps… He sent them on this mission without preparing for a long slog that we knew it was going to be. He sent them on this mission based on lies and deceit sold with fear to the American people, without respect for the value of there lives.
Learn to read Jarod.... I never said Clinton humiliated the military. I said he gutted them. You however stated that the military was humiliated by a group of rag-tag deadenders. I asked you to explain that. Again, you resort to bringing Bush into this particular topic. Bush has nothing to do with this Jarod. Explain your comment on the military being embarrased by the rag tag dead enders.
"Isreal and Palistine are at each others throats. "
As they were under Clinton, Bush Sr, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy, Ike, Truman etc...
Under Carter and Clinton there were MAJOR peace agreements reached that only fell apart when not supported by later Republican presidents.
