1. Dont go to war based on emotion or anger.
2. Dont elect a president because you want to have a beer with him, especally if he claims not to drink.
3. Vote for the smarter guy, even if he sighs during the debates.
4. Borrowing and spending is worse than taxing and spending.
5. Dont cut taxes while expenses are exploding due to war.
6. When you have the world behind you, use it.
7. Make policy based on facts not gut feelings
8. Science matters
9. If you are going to appoint cronies to positions like FEMA director, make sure they are at least minimally qualified.
10. Differing opinions should be listened to, not scoffed at!

yeah, don't sit around waiting for a lib governor to make decisions during a catastrophic weather related emergency.

I like that one, I would just say, dont sit around waiting for others to take action, when action is clearly necessary.

The biggest lession I learned is that around 26% of republicans are hopeless party hacks in spite of overwhelming evidence.

The next one was that tax cuts do not work. Well they do somewhat for whom they are targeted however the economy does not benefit.

I also learned that under regulated capitalism will drag down the entire country.

Those are important ones, I hope most of America learned that and will remember it for more than 8 years.

LOL... wow after 60 years citizen discovers there are partisans in politics (ignoring the fact that he is one himself and no different than the people he attempts to mock) and doesn't know sh*t about economics if you believe the financial meltdown was caused by taxes supposedly being too low.

Did someone say that is the sole cause of the economic meltdown? At some point taxis being too low will cause an economic meltdown... especally if spending is out of control.
