A group of Dallas children set up a lemonade stand recently to raise money for a Dallas police officer wounded during a shootout last month.

The Lakewood Trails Neighborhood Association wanted to help officer Joshua Burns after the Dallas Police Department invited homeowners to a cookout for him.

Burns was hit in the shoulder, chest and leg while answering a domestic disturbance call at a northeast Dallas apartment complex on Feb. 15. He was later released from Baylor Hospital and is expected to fully recover from his wounds.

Officers stopped by the stand near White Rock Lake to buy treats from the volunteers.

I never heard of a lemonade stand being shutdown. Ive seen them moved for safety reasons, too close to the street or blocking sidewalks and for leaving very young children unattended.
