Can someone, on your side of the Pacific, please explain why, at a time of economic turmoil, a time when the president should be doing his utmost to right the wrongs of American society and be doing his best to present American foreign policy to the world at large, half of America is spending every last dollar and ounce of energy trying to cripple him and commencing the most stupid squandering of resources we have seen since the last time America did it - by starting a presidential campaign a year before the election.
Is America REALLY that stupid, that short sighted, that irresponsible to force its driver to take his eyes off the road with all the potential risks to themselves it might bring?
I have just watched your ridiculous Bachman, who surely could not have grown to maturity in any other intelligent society, and Perry who not only wants to dispose of Obama but is hell bent on breaking up the union as well.
Is there ANYONE sane left in the Disunited States? Does ANYONE really understand how much like the proverbial lemming you look?

We have Presidential elections in the United States every four years and the candidates usually start running about 18 months before hand. What we are witnessing now is nothing new. If that makes us look like lemmings then so be it. We could annoint the President a dictator who doesn't have to run for re-election and concentrate on their job 24/7 but that's not the way our country works.

I am, of course, well aware that you 'always do it this way', but other democracies dont! Those countries, by and large, are considered at least your equal and often your superior in the way they are administered. Do you think that this 'circus' is essential? Do you think that Americans are unable to form their own opinions without such nonsense?
You say 'thats not the way our country works'. Let me remind you that at present you country, or 10% of your country is NOT working and nothing any of these wannabees are doing by driving campaign buses round and round the country is likely to alter anything.
