I personally like cut shells. It's like a shrapnel round. Hits like a slug then 'detonates' (no explosive though) like a canister round inside the target.

That's the thing about shotguns. You can create almost any kind of round. Slugs, darts, fragmentation, incendiary, poisoned, various configurations of shot in either lead, steel, copper, or even plastic, rock salt, etc. A most flexible weapon.

Cut shells are nasty as a choice. You can choose the shot size you want, but I prefer a heavy load #9 shot for these. The case, wad, and load leave the gun as a single slug. Against soft (people) targets, the shell will hit, penetrate some, then come apart spraying the target (inside) with the shot in all directions. This means you get a slug-like wound that doesn't fully penetrate and the target's insides are sprayed with those little #9 mini-BB's. So, lots of internal stuff takes damage, even if minor. That, in turn, makes it hard to render effective medical treatment to the wound created.

Dragon's Breath is fine for outdoor use, but not home defense. I doubt anyone would want a "Screaming Alpha" (an allusion to the class of fire created on the person hit) running around in their house setting everything on fire.

Oh I agree. Dragon's Breath shells are purely for entertainment. Cut shells are definitely very destructive.
