Lee raises 'concerns' over Blue Dog deal

WASHINGTON (CNN) – The deal Democratic House leaders struck with a group of conservative Blue Dogs Democrats Wednesday was not embraced by one leading liberal House Democrat: Rep. Barbara Lee, D-California, chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus. "I have a lot of concerns," she told reporters Wednesday.

Lee said she still needed to get more details, but the fact that the overall pricetag of the bill had dropped below $1 trillion raised red flags for her. She said "at a minimum," a trillion dollars would be needed to cover the current number of uninsured Americans. Lee also pointed to the change to the small business exemption, saying the cost of exempting more small businesses could mean other parts of the bill would be cut. "We have to find out who wins and who loses," she said.

All major healthcare initiaitves normally have cost at least ten fold of projections. She's pissed the bill is now under a trillion. LOFL
 
None of the dems want to come back with medicare or medicaid act vs projected?

Is that something like bush's $11-15 billion Iraq War? No GOP wailing about that is there? Have you? (If there's a mistake in projections, I'll take a healthcare mistake over killing.)

No one railed against the wars more than me.
In fact, bring them home from both of these occupations and I'll be glad to overfund healthcare.

I think they said 80 Billion, but that is basically the point. The government projections always suck with the most force of vacuum that can be applied to any projection. The only other projection that might suck with more power is the one that says that it won't cost us anything because the government pays for it.
