Laura Ingraham Has ‘No Clue’ Why Vets Group Made Up Story Fox Ran Wild With

Offering up a “little update” on Friday night, Fox News host Laura Ingraham admitted that the story of homeless vets being displaced by migrants was a hoax, adding that she had “no clue” why a group would make up a story her network stoked days of outrage over.

A week after the New York Post reported the sensational tale of 20 “struggling homeless veterans” getting booted from upstate New York hotels to make room for asylum-seeking migrants, the story completely fell apart. In reality, Sharon Toney-Finch, the CEO of a veterans’ advocacy organization, had concocted the tall tale and apparently even recruited men from a homeless shelter to pose as the displaced vets for the media.

Of course, by the time the fraud was exposed, right-wing media had run wild with the story. Fox News led the way, airing dozens of on-air segments raging about Democrats placing the needs of “illegals” over the well-being of “people who served our country and need a little boost.” Ingraham, known for her anti-immigrant rhetoric, helped lead the charge.

In the right wing media, it is not about reporting news, but rather planting innuendos, and then echoing those innuendos until the lemmings believe them as facts

She has no clue alright. Fox's only role is to provide chum to anger their nazi viewers. The NY Post is owned by Murdoch as well. Just another propaganda rag.

And this all happened in democrat controlled blue state NY. Seriously. STFU.

Yeah like the right wing news being right about all the Russia Lies, Hunter Biden, Nick Sandman, etc.etc, as opposed to the nonstop lying of the Fake News you were spoonfed.....

i hope that the founder of this organization...a disabled vet herself...will shed some light on how and why this happened...
It would be a shame to cast a shadow on the organization and the memory of Yerik...may the tiny one RIP....
"That story, told by Yerik Israel Toney Foundation chief executive Sharon Toney-Finch, was picked up May 12 by The New York Post and quickly followed by Fox News, Newsmax and other conservative news outlets. The Post on Friday published a follow-up story reporting on the latest development." https://www.yitfoundation.org/sharon-s-story

The Post reported a story they were told

They verified it with multiple sources then printed it where Fox then covered it.

You realize that people can lie to the media which happened in this case.

It is not the Posts fault that they were lied to

In reality, Sharon Toney-Finch, the CEO of a veterans’ advocacy organization, had concocted the tall tale and apparently even recruited men from a homeless shelter to pose as the displaced vets for the media.

However, on Friday, it was time to eat a bit of crow after the GOP lawmaker who initially backed Toney-Finch’s claims reversed course and denounced her, claiming he was “devastated and disheartened” to discover she fabricated the whole thing. The New York State attorney general is now looking into whether any laws were broken by Toney-Finch and additional questions swirl around other claims she’s made about her military service.

She says she has a Purple Heart, but the Army has no record of it. Now state officials are investigating her.

She hired the homeless

‘I Was Told to Say This and That, or Be Quiet.’

The story now appears to be almost entirely made up. On May 18, Maher told the Post that Toney-Finch had admitted to him that she had lied. The Crossroads Hotel and two others that Toney-Finch mentioned denied that any veterans from her organization had ever been staying there. And, the Mid-Hudson News reported on May 19, Toney-Finch had done something more egregious than simply making up a story: She allegedly recruited 15 men from a Poughkeepsie homeless shelter to pose as her displaced veterans, coached them on what to say, and promised to pay them for their time.

The "They" you say will never learn apparently is the alt right. It did not happen. Fox News admits it did not happen. Veterans were not booted for immigrants. It was a fake story. So it did not happen in New York, because it simply did not happen.

Before you respond to this with anything else, please answer the question, did it happen? That will help me judge if you are teachable.

It apparently didn’t so whoever was responsible should be held accountable

I wonder how such a false story so easily made it onto FoxNews.

They covered the Posts story who had verified their sources the same way they covered the Jussie Smollett case which was false.

Fox had nothing to do with it, they are just reporting the news.

It wasn’t their own journalists investigating it

And actually all news outlets covered this not just Fox
