It seems to be the case that the LA gunman had help and planned to escape. So Bill, would you like to say anything now?

  • Stephen Paddock, 64, planned to escape after shooting dead 58 and injuring hundreds, cops said Wednesday
  • Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said he was confident Paddock had planned to flee but didn't give details
  • He also said Paddock would need superpowers to pull off his elaborate scheme without an accomplice
  • However, he said they were open to the possibility that he acted alone when he took 23 guns into a hotel room
  • Lombardo also said that there was no suicide note, despite a sheet of paper visible in a crime scene photo
  • He added that the mass murderer 'spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and lived a secret life'
  • Cameras set up by Paddock in the hallway, doorway and inside the hotel room were not recording anything
  • Security guard who was shot by Paddock in the hallway only sought medical attention when ordered to leave
  • He said Paddock's car had 50lbs of explosives and 1,600 rounds of ammo, but wouldn't say it was for getaway
  • Police confirmed Paddock rented a room overlooking a September music festival, but it's not known why
  • The injured toll has dropped from 527 to 489; confusion from hospitals on the night led to inflated stats
  • Paddock bought 33 rifles in Oct 2016 - cops are considering if something triggered a mental breakdown then

The Las Vegas gunman who killed 58 civilians and injured hundreds more before killing himself on Sunday had originally hoped to survive his shooting and flee justice - and likely had an accomplice, it has emerged. Stephen Paddock, 64, had planned to escape the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel after firing on the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo revealed in a press conference Wednesday.

Lombardo declined to reveal why he believed that Paddock had an exit planned, but said he was confident in the claim - and said that his scheme was so elaborate that he would have to be a 'super hero' to pull it off alone. He said Paddock lived a 'secret life' and 'meticulously planned on the worst domestic attack in United States history.

"Stephen Paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and lived a secret life, much of which will never be fully understood," Lombardo said. He also announced that the count of people injured in the attack was lower than initially stated - 489, not 527 - due to confusion at hospitals.

Bill and several others were insistent that this guy was a suicidal maniac and would accept no other other explanation, so will they now concede that they might be wrong?

Why, at this point, the sheriff could be mistaken, the investigation is ongoing.

Yes he could but people like Bill, BAC and several others were adamant that they knew all the facts from the getgo. Will that teach them to be more circumspect in future? I very much doubt it.

Don't think superpowers are needed, just time and resources which he had.
That said, can't rule out collaboration. Although if this was as long term a project as the article suggests, it would seem to rule out ISIS.
Would like to find out more about the jet fuel tanks that we're hit. Clearly that part of the plan wasn't thought through if indeed it was part of the plan. It would explain why a country music show since that may not have been the focus.

"Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said he was confident Paddock had planned to flee but didn't give details"

I listened to that press briefing

the Sheriff made VERY CLEAR that it was merely his own opinion and guess that the gunman meant to flee.

so your article is wrong and not trustable
