We could start hundreds of threads about the exaggerations and lies politicians tell. No individual, political party or ideology has an exclusive on it, it goes across the whole spectrum. This stood out for two reasons though.
1) just the blatant nature of the statement - we have had regular stories in our local papers about the high electrical costs families are facing and how the state is trying to step in and alleviate the costs etc. because folks are leaving off their heat in the cold and doing all kinds of things to try and reduce their costs (and I'm willing to bet its not unique to Northern California)
- and to claim instead that people are saving enough to take family vacations?
2) I may not agree politically on a lot of things with a Bill Clinton or a Barack Obama but I can acknowledge that they had a presence about them and they could command a room and wow an audience with a speech. Harris is almost impressive in how bad she is. Her delivery and tone scream take some time off and go to a few Toastmasters meetings and then come back to the big stage.
There's a reason publications like the New York Times are writing articles sighting concerns from Democrats about Harris being on the ticket in '24. She did her job and served her role in 2020 but that I think was her ceiling.
