John Bolton one of the candidates on the Trump short list for Secretary Of State, said today on the Fox News program “Out Numbered,” He thinks that all of the States laws that legalize marijuana are unconstitutional.
One has to wonder if Bolton ever actually read the Constitution, especially the 10th amendment. My contrary opinion to Bolton’s, regarding the Constitution’s directive regarding State legalized marijuana is that the federal prohibition law related to marijuana is what’s unconstitutional. The proof of my opinion is of course the often ignored 10th amendment that guarantees the States the power to regulate and legislate such issues as marijuana while denying a power to the federal government to legislate anything not authorized as a power of the feds by the Constitution.
More proof that Bolton is “full of it,” is the fact that historically the feds found it a necessity to pass an amendment to the Constitution to prohibit the transportation and sale of alcohol. No such amendment has ever even been sought, let alone passed to allow the feds to constitutionally prohibit any substance, marijuana included.
