oct 27 2023 President Joe Biden on Friday night harshly criticized the use of high capacity assault weapons in his first public remarks on gun violence following this week's shooting in Maine that left at least 18 people dead.

Speaking at a campaign fundraiser in Washington, D.C., Biden asked: “Who the hell needs an assault weapon that can hold, in some cases, up to 100 rounds?”

Biden has repeatedly called on Congress to send legislation to his desk banning assault weapons.

In a statement Thursday, Biden urged congressional Republicans to work with Democrats to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, to enact universal background checks, to require safe storage of guns, and to suspend gun manufacturers’ “immunity from liability.”

I also favor an immediate ban on the sale of assault rifles similar to the short-lived Brady law.
There's nothing we can do about the millions already in circulation,
but we could make it illegal--perhaps even a capital offense-- to remove one from one's home.

A special permit would have to be purchased when moving.
That would cover the expense of having the weapon received and re-delivered by a secure government agency.
Otherwise, the rifle would have to be surrendered.

If you want to shoot your spouse, your kids, or yourself in the privacy of your own home,
knock yourself out. Leave the schools, the malls, the churches, and the bowling alleys alone.

I honestly don't give a fat flying fuck about your version of "freedom," pachys,

As for 200 mph Corvettes, we don't have millions of those in circulation.
They're just for the "beautiful people" who can afford them.
