Jimmy Kimmel on Florida Shooting Survivors Being Called Fake News

Joe Capitalist

Racism is a disease
Students in Florida and as far away as Arizona and Washington walked out of class the day after the Florida State House refused to even debate a bill to ban assault weapons and large-capacity ammunition magazines. There’ve been so many courageous, passionate and well-spoken students, many of whom were in the school and survived the attack, speaking out and demanding that something be done. Unfortunately, there are some who are attacking these young people and calling them actors and “fake news.” Well known people like Donald Trump Jr. and Ted Nugent are perpetuating these lies and we can’t just sit there and let these scumbags spread lies about children who survived a shooting a week ago.

"I have some bad news for you...you're crazy." So glad he's talking about this. Kimmel is becoming a really important political voice.

And I didn't know that Don Jr. liked those stories attacking some of the kids. Unreal.

Sounds like a bunch of whiners that if they don't get their way, they run home to mommy.

Kimmel is another one that has been fooled into believing laws on a piece of paper will stop people that don't abide by laws.

Delusions

A delusion is a firmly-held idea that a person has despite clear and obvious evidence that it isn’t true. Delusions are extremely common in schizophrenia, occurring in more than 90% of those who have the disorder. Often, these delusions involve illogical or bizarre ideas or fantasies, such as:

Delusions of persecution – Belief that others, often a vague “they,” are out to get you. These persecutory delusions often involve bizarre ideas and plots (e.g. “Martians are trying to poison me with radioactive particles delivered through my tap water”).

Delusions of reference – A neutral environmental event is believed to have a special and personal meaning. For example, you might believe a billboard or a person on TV is sending a message meant specifically for you.

Delusions of grandeur – Belief that you are a famous or important figure, such as Jesus Christ or Napoleon. Alternately, delusions of grandeur may involve the belief that you have unusual powers, such as the ability to fly.

Delusions of control – Belief that your thoughts or actions are being controlled by outside, alien forces. Common delusions of control include thought broadcasting (“My private thoughts are being transmitted to others”), thought insertion (“Someone is planting thoughts in my head”), and thought withdrawal (“The CIA is robbing me of my thoughts”).

yes they are

They're really not. It's a bogeyman for the NRA & the right, but there has never been any danger of the 2nd amendment being repealed or gun ownership being restricted in any significant way for law-abiding citizens.

It's just something that has been repeated for decades, but has never come within a thousand miles of happening. Most Democrats support the 2nd; many are gun owners. Democratic politicians care too much about keeping their seats to really challenge the idea of gun ownership in general.

It will never happen, and there is no slippery slope. As much as the right accuses the left of fear tactics, this is one where they have been consistently irrational.

Just like the left refuses to compromise on abortion, we refuse to compromise on guns

Roe is a compromise. A good one, too.

really?

ask the left about banning late term abortions see what they say. ZERO compromise

There is ZERO compromise on guns. We have background checks. It isn't our fault if states aren't doing what they are supposed to do.

Stop making it about a gun that looks scary to you.

For you to think that there isn't a contingent out there whose sole goal is to ban and confiscate guns is disingenuous or uninformed and makes you part of the problem

Until you are ready to put armed guards are schools to protect children, you aren't serious about their safety

The fact that someone like Kimmel has a late night talk show indicates how politics is pathetically interjected into all aspects of life in TV. He's not funny at all.
Gone are the days of real comedians like Johnny Carson, Bob Hope and Jay Leno.
At least we still have Conan, a relic from bygone days.
