Jill Biden dismisses Nikki Haley's proposal for mental competency tests

First Lady Jill Biden dismissed statements made by Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley who called for politicians over the age of 75 to undergo mental capacity tests, according to reports.

CNN reported that in an interview set to air on the network on Monday night, the first lady called the proposal ridiculous, and when asked if the president would consider taking a mental capacity test if elected, she said, "We would never even discuss something like that."

Haley, 51, threw her name into the hat as a Republican presidential candidate last month and made headlines after calling for "mental competency tests."

President Biden turned 80 in November and former President Trump, also a candidate for president this go-round, is 76.

A Fox News Poll conducted in late February found that, overall, 77% of Americans favor requiring such tests, with 83% of millennials, 84% of GenXers and 66% of Baby Boomers supporting the idea.


The study also found that 87% of Republicans, 74% of Independents and 67% of Democrats surveyed
favor the mental capacity tests, as well......

Jill Biden is committing elder abuse. Joe Biden should take the v=30 minutes to take a MoCA exam. What is the harm? Take the exam then publish the results and shut everyone up......or step down from power.
 
In all fairness , most politicians are not the brightest. Also take into consideration that they are elected by the masses, the avg. intelligence of which is way below that of , say, a decent electrician or plumber and 49% of whom pay no taxes and a fuck load on the dole.
Pretty scary actually.

The flip side of that is some are actually pretty intelligent but dumb themselves down because they feel they need to to get elected. The other reality is we the public don’t often like to hear reality so politicians don’t give it to us. They tell us we can have it all when they know it’s not true.

So we agree. An otherwise intelligent person purposely makes himself dumb for the job (if he/she is not there already).

Which is why the overwhelming majority of politicians only insult my admittedly below stellar intelligence.
A few actually have spoken the truth and those are the few that I vote for even if it's 'throwing away' my vote.

Well, at least a good electrician or plumber is smarter than your average lawyer...

No doubt. When you need one you're glad they're there. Ya never know. Only needed one once. To get my dad's estate out of the Chase's greedy hands. They wouldn't let go.
 
Age is irrelevant.

You vet candidates. You decide if they're capable. You decide if you agree with them.

Then, unless you're one yourself, you don't vote for assholes like Trump.
