sep 28 2017 Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura said the federal government should open the United States’ borders to undocumented immigrants who could help rebuild Texas and Florida after the recent hurricanes.

“Who’s going to do this cleanup? The white people? I think we should open our borders and bring the Mexicans up; we’ve got a lot of work for them, cleaning up Houston and cleaning up Florida,” Ventura said during the Nexus Conference in Aspen, Colo., over the weekend.

“Who’s going to do that work? You? Think about it. These are hardworking people. We want them – and let’s remember something, unless you are ‘native United Staten,’ we are all immigrants, aren’t we?” he added. “How quick we forget. And if they want to put this wall up, I’ll tell you what they need to do – take down the Statue of Liberty, take it down, take it down. Why have a statue that is meaningless? That statue says send us your poor, send us your this, send us your that.”

He's an idiot. Texans and Floridians have been doing their best to clean up our own streets and neighborhoods. Guess he didn't watch any of the news footage during the immediate days after Harvey and Irma. And neighbors around here have not been charging each other for helping each other.

Puerto Rico..can you imagine what that would be like? How do you survive with no sewage, water and housing for long?
 
Many of them have family and friends stateside. I'm hoping maybe they can bring them over here while the restoration continues. At least take in their homes the women, children, elderly and infirmed. The healthy younger men could stay behind for 6 months or so to help clean up and rebuild with contractors and military. The winter will be mild so if FEMA and whoever else could supply tents and meals for them, it might be a good arrangement.

The PR govt didn't do it's job and now the states have to bail out this socialist sewer. Just like with katrina 12 years ago.
