JD Vance "...Russia, it is not in our vital national security interest,"

From February, Vance was willing to take ample public pushback for refusing to peddle the same hysteria about Russia's invasion of Ukraine, never siding with President Vladimir Putin, as his critics liked to insinuate, but instead redirecting rage to our own border insecurity. The real point of inflection came in March when Mandel, letting the MAGA mask slide for a second, endorsed a European-led no-fly zone over Ukraine, and Vance held firm.

"Regardless of whether you get into the weeds of what's going on in Ukraine or what's going on in Russia, it is not in our vital national security interest," Vance said during the debate. "I think it's disgusting that for four years, Donald Trump could not get $4 billion out of the Republican Congress to build a wall at the southern border — and meanwhile, Joe Biden got $14 billion in a week to send to Ukraine."

And if the No. 1 national issue for Republicans is fixing the Brandon economy, the No. 1 intraparty issue is purging what remains of the neocons. Donald Trump spent four years ousting the GOP's warmongers into the greenrooms of CNN and MSNBC and reforming the party into one of foreign policy realism, but those gains mean nothing if a Bill Kristol acolyte in favor of starting World War III becomes the Republican senator from Ohio of all places.

There will be retribution for what we are doing to the Russians.

wasting our weapons while China is the threat if you want to call it that

we've used 35% of some of our stockpile -and not all are repalcable with the parts shortages

We are promoting the rubleization of Ukraine and the flooding of the black market with high powered weapons which will almost certainly come back to kick us in the ass, but I was speaking of how we are helping the Chinese make the case that American power has got to go.

Analysts also estimate that the United States has sent about one-quarter of its stockpile of shoulder-fired Stinger missiles to Ukraine. Raytheon Technologies CEO Greg Hayes told investors last week during a quarterly call that his company, which makes the weapons system, wouldn’t be able to ramp up production until next year due to parts shortages.

Could this be a problem? The short answer is, ‘Probably, yes,’” said Cancian, a retired Marine colonel and former government specialist on Pentagon budget strategy, war funding and procurement.

He said that Stingers and Javelins were where “we’re seeing the most significant inventory issues,” and production of both weapons systems has been limited in recent years.

The Russian invasion offers the U.S. and European defense industry a big opportunity to bolster profits as lawmakers from Washington to Warsaw are primed to increase defense spending in response to Russian aggression. Defense contractors, however, face the same supply chain and labor shortage challenges that other manufacturers are facing, along with some others that are specific to the industry.

It is not the American inventory that has been decimated, it is all of NATO.

cant find it of course but reports of missing STINGERS and JAVELIN means at least some are alerady sold on the black market,, a terrorists dream

Another Fox parrot.

Republicans in general are on the wrong side of history w/ this issue. Most will deny their positions in 10 years.

Not understanding that Russia is on Team China apparently.

Because we pushed them to that side of the football. Russia is in a population death spiral and produces nothing except oil and gas, but the globalists needed a boogeyman to pit against Trump and couldn't use China because from McConnell to Biden they're all in the pockets of the CCP

ill take my chances.
I was correct when no one else was (except my late friend Black As Coal who used to post here)
about the NATO war on Libya destroyed that country. and sent Libyan arms to Syria

And I said Iraq was a folly
And I said Syria rebels could not hold their weapons in the face of jihadists
And I said a long term counterinsurgency strategy in afghan would not work as nation building

There is at least a decent possibility Russia will be forced to use tactical nukes

alll of this is eastern Europes problem not our's -our's is China and we are not taking that threat seriously

US sanctions because of the fake Russian collusion forced Putin to ally with China

Libya, Iraq, Syria - these are all apples to watermelons comparisons.

This is the entire globe's problem. Honestly, it's useless for us to really try to "debate" the Ukraine conflict. I'm mystified by your position and attempts to take blame off of Putin. This is entirely his war, and his actions have made it our problem - not just Europe's. That really sounds like Chamberlain kind of stuff.

Russia has massive resources, extensive technical ability, and control of the artic....all of which are vastly valuable to the Chinese as they build their Empire anew, this time it will be global.

Vance is advocating a scary, isolationist view that we've grown out of.

Everyone who warned us about Putin & Russia is 100% vindicated at this point. Even I wanted to believe that they could be an ally, and contributing member of the world community. I was wrong.
