Jamba Juice will move headquarters from Bay Area to Texas

mba Inc., the owner of smoothie company Jamba Juice, will move its headquarters from Emeryville, Calif., to Texas within eight months.

The company's new corporate home will be in Frisco, Texas, about 30 miles north of Dallas. In a statement, Chief Executive David Pace said Jamba was looking for places that had "competitive operating costs," access to "skilled restaurant talent" and an "attractive cost of living," along with a central location for further expansion.

"The state of Texas meets all of these criteria and Frisco is a community committed to healthy living that aligns closely with our overall mission," Pace said.

How can anyone claim this is because of taxpayer funded bribery?

yes, they partnered up with dairy queen. we have two of them in my immediate area.

Thx. We had one orange julius open in the first food court here decades ago. People got over the novelty of overpriced orange juice in orange shaped containers and they drifted off into the ether.
Dairy queen huh...

I don't think so. How so? What tax payer funds were used to "bribe" Jamba to juice on down to Texas?

anytime a business wants to move, it's looking for better tax breaks. since legislators and/or city council people want to be re-elected, they can show that they brought jobs to their community. thus, tax breaks. it's why GW Bush still owes Arlington TX 7 million dollars.

How are tax breaks tax payer funded bribery? As I understand it, they get tax breaks, but still bring in taxes that otherwise would not have been put in the coffers if the business didn't move there.

the tax payers are basically giving back part of the property taxes, tax breaks, in order to lure the business to it's area.

This is why I am moving to Texas, to help the poor Texans. They give tax breaks to corporations and their property taxes are some of the highest in the USA. Poor confused people, but, then, again, oil is hurting, so they have to do something, but it is on the backs of property owners, instead of corporations.

you do realize that we're 1 to 3 years away from declaring property tax unconstitutional, right?
