I believe that the hour is not far off when Putin will utter his famous "it sank", only this time, meaning Russia. Yes, it looks like a galley slave, as Putin positions himself in power, will smash the galley against the truth, which is as hard as a granite rock. His galley will sink in lies, which, thanks to the efforts of the helmsman, have become Russia's calling card. Putin added a new one to the well-known meme about Russia as the "Evil Empire" - "Empire of Lies". However, it could not be otherwise, because Evil and Lies are inseparable concepts.
In this regard, I will allow myself to quote from an article I wrote earlier (1), in which I tried to explain why lies are so successfully present in the Russian people.
"Here we must note a unique feature of the Russian people, namely, their acceptability of lies. In the consciousness of a Russian, truth and lies coexist perfectly well without causing any harm. Once, during the Soviet Union, a Swedish woman, who was doing an internship at Moscow State University, told a group of students about her important discovery, as she imagined it: “In your country, everyone says one thing and thinks another.” This state of ambiguity, so familiar to our consciousness, puzzled her. She, who grew up in a free society, could not understand how it could happen that everyone had the same opinion on any issue. What seemed self-evident to us, accustomed to universal lies, seemed unnatural to her, and perhaps even herd savagery, which she, of course, kept silent about. From this it is clear with what ease the lies of the Russian president, which correspond to the imperial worldview of the people, are instantly accepted by the consciousness of every Russian without hesitation, regardless of what country he lives in. The latter says that even changed circumstances are not able to change the imperial worldview of the Russian people. Perhaps I am wrong, but in my opinion, Russian society, accustomed to Lies during the existence of the Soviet Union, plus the pathological inability of the Russian people to live in a democracy (3), combined with its imperial worldview, is in itself a kind of embodiment of Universal Evil, posing a threat to the World. And it is not about Putin, Putin serves only as a successful conductor, an organizer of the outburst of this Evil. Thus, to the generally accepted, well-known definition of Russia as the "Empire of Evil" we can equally add "Empire of Lies", because "lies" and "evil" are accompanying concepts and do not exist without each other. Thus, Russia's aggression against Ukraine was accompanied by a massive injection of incredible amounts of disinformation and outright lies by the Russian media from the Kremlin and personally by President Putin - the main, I would say, unsurpassed liar of Russia today. There is no point in citing the long track record of lies of the Russian president, because every word he says is a lie."
Since I could not find an example of President Putin telling the truth, I asked the question in my blog on the Proza.ru website, in LiveJournal, and on Russian-language forums: "I would be grateful if someone could give at least one example of Putin telling the truth?" As expected, there was not a single affirmative answer. The reaction of the Proza.ru moderator to this innocent question was especially comical. The topic with the question disappeared and the message "The work is not displayed" (2) appeared instead. After some time, apparently realizing that such an action made it obvious that Putin was not telling the truth, the moderator returned my question to its place. However, no one who read the question gave an example of Putin telling the truth. After which the moderator, without waiting for a positive answer, was forced to close the topic, so as not to be known as an extremist under the new legislation and not end up in prison.
An unambiguous conclusion follows, namely, Putin is a liar, but this is not sad, what is sad is that the Russian people accept this lie, no matter how monstrous it is, as a necessity to justify the war with Ukraine. Of course, there are people in Russia protesting against the war unleashed by Putin, but they are insignificantly few. Putin is confident in the Russian people supporting and voting for him in the elections. How can one not recall George Orwell "People who vote for losers, thieves, traitors and swindlers are not their victims. They are accomplices." Undoubtedly, Putin is a criminal who awaits an international tribunal. Putin has a bloody trail of crimes committed by him during his time in power, starting with the explosion of houses with residents and the subsequent war in Chechnya, to the unleashed war with Ukraine.
It is also necessary to note the guilt of the West, in condoning the criminal steps of the revanchist, who secretly planned to recreate the Russian Empire. Only now, after eighty years of prosperous peaceful existence, Europe realized that it once again faced a disaster threatening to plunge it into a nuclear nightmare. It turns out that throughout the post-war period, the ghost of Hitler (3) silently waited for a favorable opportunity to find reality in the person of Putin, who exactly followed the Fuhrer's instructions: "If you tell lies long enough, loud enough and often enough, people will begin to believe." Yes, it seems that Putin has learned the words of his teacher and spiritual mentor well. Through the propagandists, whom Putin generously supports from the state budget, lies have spilled out like a tsunami beyond the borders of Russia onto people who grew up in conditions of democratic freedoms, and therefore are completely unprepared, unlike Russians, to perceive such an incredible amount of openly brazen disinformation. It took time for democratic countries, which had experienced the actions of Putin's knights of the cloak and dagger, to realize what Putin and his Russia are, and finally unite with the goal of ridding the World of this monster from the lizard era, who has miraculously survived to this day.
We remember France's farewell to Jean-Paul Belmondo, a man of great heart and great kindness, whose departure brought tears to the eyes of those present at the funeral (
), so I am sure that when the World gets rid of Putin, there will not be a single person saddened by this occasion. Just as in response to Larry King's question about what happened to the submarine, Putin, without a drop of regret for the dead sailors, said "it sank", so the same will follow when asked what happened to Putin - he died.
