Israel's election

FUCK THE POLICE

911 EVERY DAY
Unbeknownst to practically any of you, Israel recently had an election.

All the left-wing parties got clobbered. One was even wiped out.

So the only options right now are a centrist Labor-Likud-Kadima coalition, a center-right Likud-Kadima-Yisrael coalition, or a far right coalition of Likud-Yisrael and the religious parties.

If the Labor-Likud-Kadima coalition doesn't come threw (and labor and kadima are stubbornly rejecting the mere idea at the current moment) the stability of the world is going to come seriously into question. So let's hope that Labor and Kadima come to their senses - they have few bargaining chips in this matter besides asking Likud whether or not they REALLY want a government full of loons. And hopefully a Labor-Likud-Kadima coalition, if it does come into being, will establish a 5% threshold in their elections to kick out the far right parties so that they can have stable government again.

I knew. But I kinda figured you weren't thinking of me when you wrote this.

Look, the Gaza war was popular in Israel and when a country gets caught up in wartime fever these kinds of elections happen. But they go both ways.

If Netanyahu and Lieberman end up being in a governing coalition we will see whether they can last long in that position.

But Kadima will probably need to be part of a unity government anyway for them to be able to function.

HA, yeah, you don't really post much. O_o

But I seriously hope that Kadima and Labor are just playing hard to get right now. It won't be good for the world to have the far right governing Israel.
