It would appear that he is not up to the task at hand. Are his pacifist leanings and pro muslim sentiments the reason a large swath of Americans believe he is really a muslim?

It would appear that about 51% of Americans are fine with that. At least around early November every 4 years or so.

I'm amazed that anyone even needs to ask such a question. We knew that before Obama even became a candidate and said this:
