The IRS is set to hand over data on workers who are illegally in the US to Trump / DOGE / ICE et al. This means both these workers and their employers are potentially at high risk of being arrested, the workers deported, and the employer tried for hiring them.

Appears to be much to do about nothing

Enough that they pay roughly $100 billion in taxes a year. That partially makes up for the several hundred billion they cost the US in dealing with them.
