Every time someone like Christie tears into Hillary about Benghazi at this convention, you see the righteous indignation from so many in the crowd, applauding and cheering earnestly like there has never been a more egregious foreign policy debacle in their lives.

But wait – there was! In fact, one that didn’t just cost 4 American lives, but over 4,000. Oh, and also countless other innocent lives. And nearly bankrupted the country. And was started on false pretenses. And lasted 10 years. And destabilized the region. And which Bush made light of after the fact.

Spare me, you Republican hypocrites. Every single one of you was calling any war opponent a traitor & terrorist sympathizer, and defending Bush to the end even after it was clear that they had deceived the public, to get us into a war. I can’t remember a more obvious example of blind partisan double-standards & false outrage.

Well, it definitely goes back to the speech from the mother on Monday night. Barely any dry eyes in the house.

What a villain Hillary is for causing so much death! And I don't want to minimize the tragedy of losing 4 Americans. But my lord - the level of tragedy from Iraq is so far beyond that. It's actually at a level that most people can't comprehend. 4,000+ lives is just where it starts; when you think about all of the suicides and maimed soldiers, all of the innocent Iraqis, all of the refugees created, and then the deaths that came about indirectly from destabilization. It's absolutely overwhelming.

how about the 80+ lives in Waco? and who made light of that?

100,000 to 500,000 Iraqis, mostly civilians, were killed because Bush wanted his legacy to be that he sparked a domino effect of Middle East democracy.

What are you even talking about? I've said many times that I'm not voting for Clinton, specifically because of her Iraq vote.

YOU on the other hand are outraged against Clinton, and were still a big cheerleader for the Iraq War.

It's sickening how much you have downplayed the death of innocents in the Iraq War. You're a prime example of the kind of partisan hack hypocrite I'm talking about in the OP.
 
Christie never mentioned Bengazi in his speech..It was US/NATO Libyan war of which Clinton was chief architect and US advocate..
Bengazi is a sideshow -a vicious one because of regime change of Qadaffi -but a sideshow nonetheless

She voted for Iraq, pressed for arming the Syrian rebels, and tried to destabilze Assad ( with nothing to replace him) by Friends of Syria

Honestly, that's a shitty assumption.

This is a thread about Benghazi & Iraq. If you want to talk about the Waco tragedy, feel free to start another thread. I never made light of it.

????....of course there is......divide 500,000 by the days we were in Iraq and tell me how many had to have died every day.......then tell me how they hid the bodies so well that not even the rabid liberal press could find them.......
 
Pence also misstated the facts on Benghazi in his speech, and supported the Iraq War, MSNBC played the Benghazi hearing tape with Clinton's famous quote in context, and it is nothing like Pence portrayed.

He is a man that puts his faith above all else, and yet, he bears false witness. Sad.
