Inflation accelerates to 8.5% in March; New four-decade high

inflation measured by the formula used back in Carter's day...

• March 2022 CPI-U annual inflation hit a 40-plus year high of 8.54% [up from 7.87% in February], the steepest inflation pace since December 1981; March 2022 ShadowStats “Corrected” Alternate CPI estimate hit 17.15%, up from 16.05% in February], the steepest inflation rate since June 1947 (in 75 years).

Even as prices continue to rise to record highs with each new CPI report, economists have said that inflation appears to be reaching peak levels now.

“The CPI report has a little bit more good news in it than it appears right on the surface,” Jefferies Fixed Income Money Market Economist Tom Simons told Yahoo Finance Live Tuesday morning. “Obviously, as we see these eye-popping numbers like 8.5% year-over-year, comparisons [emerge] with the late 1980s and early 1990s when inflation was really running quite hot. There’s a number of things in here that suggest that we’re starting to see inflation peak and it will roll over in the next couple of months.”

Brought to you by the same people who told you a year ago that inflation would be over by the end of summer of last year.

I point out again that the CPI calculation was massively changed, and that pretending otherwise is fraud. Under the old calculation inflation is running north of 15%.

We get lied to constantly now.

Hey Leftardo's. This November WE THE PEOPLE are going to absolutely drop the hammer down upon your heads. Anvil included...;)

You know whats coming? I do............

RAGE

Boring.

We'll see. Dems aren't in great position, but the GOP look like a bunch of lunatics. Of course they'll pick up seats, but my guess is you'll be grasping at "election fraud" theories when they don't gain a huge advantage.
