"Well, Indiana has taken action to “recognize the unique character of a citizen’s home and to ensure that a citizen feels secure in his or her own home against unlawful intrusion by another individual or a public servant.”

...

(i) A person is justified in using reasonable force against a public servant if the person reasonably believes the force is necessary to:
(1) protect the person or a third person from what the person reasonably believes to be the imminent use of unlawful force;
(2) prevent or terminate the public servant’s unlawful entry of or attack on the person’s dwelling, curtilage, or occupied motor vehicle; or
(3) prevent or terminate the public servant’s unlawful trespass on or criminal interference with property lawfully in the person’s possession, lawfully in possession of a member of the person’s immediate family, or belonging to a person whose property the person has authority to protect.

A few years back, Indiana actually had a law saying it was illegal to shoot police doing illegal things. (i just learned this).

"Indiana High Court Rules People Cannot Resist Illegal Entry by Police Into Homes"

The court issued its 3-2 ruling on Thursday, contending that allowing residents to resist officers who enter their homes without any right would increase the risk of violent confrontation. If police enter a home illegally, the courts are the proper place to protest it, Justice Steven David said.

"We believe ... a right to resist an unlawful police entry into a home is against public policy and is incompatible with modern Fourth Amendment jurisprudence," David said. "We also find that allowing resistance unnecessarily escalates the level of violence and therefore the risk of injuries to all parties involved without preventing the arrest."

Thankfully, that has now been corrected. Police can no longer unlawfully enter someones house without facing repercussions. Kinda sad we need to put this on the books in the first place.

there was no law that stated it was illegal, the state supreme court decided that it was no longer going to recognize the 4th Amendment when it came to it's cops, illegal actions or not. and why is this being posted again? I talked about this 3 years ago.
