and the knowledge that it would end or ruin countless lives was irrelevant to the proponents.
The handful of corporate oligarchs who pull the strings in the Republican Party
absolutely KNEW that the entire WMD thing was a total fabrication, because it was THEIR fabrication,
and the rank and file Republicans [the Joe Sixpack types] at the end of those strings
generally don't have the requisite gray matter to know anything at all.
