If the TEA Party was a normal party

It would have a national organization, be on the ballot in more states, have a coherent identity, and funding from sources unconnected with Astro-turfers like Dick Armey and the Kochs.


But it's not a real party. It's a "movement".


As it is, the only ballot-listed Tea Party I could find had a sorry electoral record indeed - just four candidates for the House of Representatives (three ran in Florida, and one gave it a shot in New Jersey), one tried for a Senate seat in Nevada, and 15 asked voters to put them in state offices in Florida.
