A California court ruled in favor of a Christian baker Friday following a years-long legal battle after she refused to bake a custom cake for a lesbian wedding in 2017, citing her religious beliefs.

"We applaud the court for this decision," Thomas More Society Special Counsel Charles LiMandri said in a statement. "The freedom to practice one’s religion is enshrined in the First Amendment, and the United States Supreme Court has long upheld the freedom of artistic expression."

Cathy Miller, a cake designer who owns the popular Tastries bakery in Bakersfield, California, won what her lawyers at the Thomas More Society called "a First Amendment victory" when Judge Eric Bradshaw of the Superior Court of California in Kern County ruled against California's Department of Fair Housing and Employment, which had brought the lawsuit against her.......

The SWEET taste of victory.

I'm so happy for you. Applauding the triumph of discrimination is so very much in keeping with conservative -- and Xtian -- values.

Hey it's not like there aren't a hundred other bakers out there. No sense in forcing someone to violate their Religious conviction just because you think you can do it. People of faith have Constitutional rights too sweetie.

So are you a Biblical expert?

Expert? No. But I always hear "hate the sin, love the sinner," as well as "let he who is without sin."

I don't personally feel that homosexuality is a sin, though I know there is an obscure passage in the OT that people base so much of their belief on. But I firmly believe that homosexuality is not a choice, at all. So, God had something to do w/ it. We should celebrate what God created.

i guess u would not support a baker for refusing to do a Confederate Flag Cake...you would want him to be FORCED to make it

Just so long as you guys don't allow Hobby Lobby to throttle women's free choice. Oh, wait, you are actually probably OK with that. But don't let the gays get a cake!

Hypocrisy writ large.

you are out of luck.......God now owns Hobby Lobby........

That's what the "ravening wolves" of the current management/ownership would WANT you to think. At least they know that TALKING Christianity is more important than BEING Christian.

Liars whose business largely supports atheist Communist China. Huh. Whodda thunk that MAMMON was such a powerful god.

It's called "Christ"-ianity, right?

Would Christ have turned someone away, just because they're gay?
He would have told them go and sin no more like he did the woman at the well who was caught in sexual iniquity. . The Bible mentions marriage several times it never mentions gay marriage and certainly not the marriage of two males. It does mention Sodom and Gomorrah though and not in a favorable light..
