I thought Pelosi said we would all like it?

Wasn't that what she told us? That we would like the new health care bill once it was passed and we were allowed to read it?

I wonder why so many in her very own district are begging for waivers.... AND getting them?

Shouldn't she go back to San Fran and simply explain the awesomeness of Obamacare to those rubes in San Fran who clearly do not understand the majesty Obamacare brings to their health care?

actually, I think she only told us we would get to see it.....I don't think she promised we would like what we saw....

What I find interesting is Harry Reid got at least a partial pass for the entire state of Nevada.

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/may/16/nevada-secures-partial-waiver-federal-health-care-/

The Health and Human Services Department announced late Friday that Nevada had secured a statewide waiver from certain implementation requirements of the Obama administration’s health care law, because forcing them through, the department found, “may lead to the destabilization of the individual market.”

So the leader of the Senate and former House Speaker BOTH are getting exemptions for their constituents from the bill they crammed down our throats and told us would 'save us money and that we all would like'..... yeah, I am thinking if the Reps ever put up a viable candidate they should hammer on this point.

If the far right would get its panties out of a bunch with regard to Romney, they might actually see someone who could not only take down Obama in 2012, but also be a benefit to this country fiscally. He has issues to be certain as they all do, but Obama is very vulnerable and will remain so as long as the economy remains as it is.

Yup, that's my assessment as well. I'm not sure Mitt is the best candidate, but he seems to be the best of the current group.

How would he go after Obama's health plan considering what he put in place in MA? If I'm Team Obama I hammer Romney on that all day long.

Because the price these gourmet restaurants and hotels charge for a porterhouse steak, filet mignon and crab dinner have nothing to do with the level of health insurance these establishments provide for their employees. Do you understand why waivers are needed?

Two potential ways....

1) If he feels MA was a mistake (which he apparently does not) then he could own it by saying 'look we tried it in MA under my watch and it is not working for 'x' reasons'

or

2) If he feels MA was right (which he apparently does) then he could own it as well by saying 'look, what works in MA may not work in CO or elsewhere, this is an issue that should be left up to the states to tailor in a manner that works for them rather than having a cookie cutter national plan that we try to force onto everyone'

Yes, I absolutely understand why waivers are needed..... Obamacare is detrimental to small and large businesses alike. Which is why so many are begging to be released from its obligations.

1. Romneycare is different. It requires all residents to carry insurance. It's not a state insurance program.
2. Romney's position is in accordance with the US Constitution, Amendment 10, that the feds have limited power and all other powers are left up to the states or to the people.

Let's try this: If a law was passed today that every bridge in America had to exceed a particular load bearing limit, would all the bridges in America be fixed and safe by the next day?

Does the constitution of the state of Mass allow that kind of forced participation?
