I feel safe, don't you?

I find that hard to believe? Run and Hide?

What guns does the US Border Patrol use?

The H&K P2000 LEM pistol in .40 S&W caliber is the primary sidearm. LEM stands for Law Enforcement Mechanism - a trigger modification that allows for a heavier, double action only trigger.

The H&K USP Compact pistol and H&K P2000SK (sub-compact) .40 S&W caliber pistols are authorized as secondary sidearms.

Colt M4 Carbine is the standard patrol rifle.

Remington 870 in 14- and 18-inch barrels modified by Scattergun Technologies with a more robust finish, side-saddle shell carrier, extended magazine tube, etc. is the standard shotgun

H&K UMP in .40 caliber is the standard submachine gun.

These are weapons regularly carried by patrol agents, but there are other weapons carried by the Border Patrol's more specialized units such as BORTAC who issues weapons such as the Remington 700 sniper rifle, Heckler and Koch 53 A2 and A3, and the Springfield M-14 (which is also used for ceremony purposes).

In addition, Border Patrol Agents have at their disposal a variety of non-lethal weapons including the Fabrique Nationale (FN) 303, telescopic steel batons, M- and X-26 Tasers, OC Spray, and paintball style guns commonly used for riot control that fire a plastic pellet full of Oleoresin Capsicum (pepper) dust that irritates the eyes, nose, and throat.

If they indeed have arms like the ones listed above, there is no need to run and hide!
