I am sure Obama is loving this!

You mean the anemic recovery from the Bush recession that would have been a lot stronger had not congressional Republicans prevented a stronger stimulus package? That failure?

the stimulus package was dumb. Instead of doing that they would have had a better effect if they just gave the citizens the money and let them spend it to boost consumer spending.

I wouldn't consider economic RECOVERY no matter how slow, a failure. Economic freefall like at the end of Bush's term, now that's a failure.

ahh. so you would consider trump a huge success as well even though libs claim he would have been better off investing the money? :)

But see, you're not just another angry, partisan hack suffering from ODS.

There is NO WAY any JPP Rightie will ever credit Obama with turning around the economic freefall this country was in and the subsequent economic recovery we as a nation continue to enjoy.

Holy Shit! Makes me glad my condo is of modern construction. I've been through the "How to shut the water off" drill with the misses as our laundry room is on the third floor of our condo and that sort of water damage would be catastrophic. Many I hope this was covered by your insurer.

Fortunately my neighbor was home and eventually woke up the President of the HOA and went down to the garage to turn off the water. But yeah, what a mess. Smart you had that talk with the Misses!

State Farm is covering us but unlike the commercials they are not a good neighbor. We're trying to get this thing completed by the time baby girl is born and they are dragging their feet. I don't want to bring home from the hospital to a hotel.

BTW...if your condo has asbestos, take the hit and get the hell out. Sell, sell, sell. Even if your insurance companies pays for the abatement. With maybe the exception if they were asbestos heat tiles. Anything else, particulary with a young one along the way...get the hell out.

You had all last night to respond.

Or were you "at work" all night.

How much time do you need?

Sorry the real world occasionally happens Zap and I couldn't respond quicker.

This article from the Journal lays out the basic facts of where the recovery ranks pretty well:

Seven Years Later, Recovery Remains the Weakest of the Post-World War II Era

Despite longevity, total growth during this economic expansion is lower than for much shorter business cycles

Even seven years after the recession ended, the current stretch*of economic gains*has yielded*less growth than much shorter business cycles.

In terms of average annual*growth, the pace of this expansion has been by far*the weakest of any since 1949. (And for which we have quarterly data.)*The economy has grown at a 2.1% annual rate since the U.S. recovery began in mid-2009, according to gross-domestic-product data the Commerce Department released Friday.

The prior expansion, from 2001 through 2007, was the only other business cycle of the past 11 when the economy didn’t grow at least 3% a year, on average.

Total growth this expansion*ranks just*8th of the past 11 cycles.*The U.S. economy, at the end of June, was 15.5% larger than it was when the recession ended in 2009.

The current expansion remains smaller than*the one during Richard Nixon‘s administration. And*that 16% expansion lasted just three years.*The economy grew 18% from 2001 through 2007. It grew 52% from 1961 through 1969.

Despite the current expansion’s lack of intensity—or perhaps because of it—it is now one of the longest.

There have only been three longer expansions in the past seven decades.

So far, it has occurred entirely during*Barack Obama‘s time in the Oval Office, making it the longest expansion under a single president. The growth streak would need to extend just a little more than halfway through the next president’s term to achieve a modern record.

The average economic expansion since 1949 has lasted just more than five years. Only the expansion during the 1990s made it 10 years.

And for foreign policy the basis is the legacy of a failed state in Libya and the expansion of ISIS there, the failure to enforce his "red line" in Syria which led to the escalation and Russian involvement we see today. He got bin Laden which he deserves credit for but that alone doesn't make eight years of foreign policy.

Real life calls again but I'd be happy to discuss further.

the foreign policy legacy of Obama is you have the most pro-us countries like the philippines (where americans enjoy the highest favorability rating) pulling away from the US and siding with China =_______=
