I am leaving the Republican Party

Independent Thinker
I'll continue to vote in GOP primaries, but until the GOP returns to its principles of limited government, individual liberty and free markets, I will not waste any more of my time with them. I am considering joining the Libertarian Party. For the time being, I am an independent.

This decision is the result of much thought and discussion, including discussions I've had on this site.

It used to be a decent party about 30 years ago.

Now its a joke.

Limited government is not going to be part of America ever again.

We need to figure out how to deliver the promise of a decent life and limited government has proven its failure.

When you learn that one you may finally get "It".

paraphrasing here but essentially you are saying "more government = better lives for its people". Is there a particular example (country) you believe has followed this model best?

hey idiot. show one single country in this world that grew a huge government in order to make their citizens lives more free and prosperous?

They will refuse all logic and fact just like they did during the Bush years.

They will find a way to convince themselves that this was all because we had too many laws governing the markets actions.

They will continue to say any government laws on the actions of markets is evil and equates to "Big Government".

They have had their brains bought and sold and dont own the ability to change tehir minds in the light of facts.

We will have to do this without them and drag them like so much dead wait into a future in which they will be a dying breed.

Their kids and grandkids wont be so stupid.

What "facts" do you speak of? Whose question are you responding to above? Is this another speak to yourself thread and then you ask why no one responds?

There you have it cawacko.

A crisp, clear argument as to why limited governments have failed.

their failure is obvious

Government gets bigger every year. So by your standards, the Bush government should be exactly 1.7 times as great as the Clinton government, and the Reagan years should be way, waaaay better than the Kennedy years.

who is "their"? does "their" = equal limited government? You have been asked by several people and yet to give examples or countries you believe the U.S. should follow who better serve their citizens.

refusing to understand what is said is not a good arguement.

During the Bush administration we experienced unprecedented growth of government. Basically, the size of the Federal government doubled in 8 years. So again I ask you to tell me when and where limited government has failed.

There's no point in joining the LP officially. You have much more influence in GOP primaries. The LP is an utterly useless venture. It has no star candidates and does little but howl anarcho-libertarianism to the moon.
