It's not just the South. The rural part of Ohio im from is reactionary as hell and most the guys I know are all a twitter about Trump. Trump will do very well in the rural Midwest.

I'll say this, Trumps nomination would be a catastrophic blow to the GOP, not because of electoral politics but because if elected he could and probably would emasculate the party hierarchy. Having said that he's a far more palatable and electable choice than Ted Cruz. There isn't a candidate left standing that wouldn't be a superior President than Cruz.

If Trump takes power it is going to put an awful lot of yes-men in a very bad position. What will happen to the deep and meaningful relationship between the quisling tongues of the tories and such and the American Presidential Posterior? The serfs will start laughing, and where is THAT going to end!

Trump can win a general. I do not underestimate him for a second.

Pretty crazy what's happening, though. Demagoguery on this scale probably hasn't had this level of success since Hitler. Trump continues to represent a real low for America. It's exposing a whole segment of the population that I think most people assumed existed, but very few thought was so large.

That's the narrative, anyway. But Trump is starting to show signs of making inroads with minorities. He scored 35% of the the Latino vote in Laredo county TX---the most Latino county in TX. Granted, those are republican Latinos but the number is still significant nonetheless.

In other words, Trump beat both Rubio and Cruz amongst Latinos. I don't think the narrative tells the whole story. They rarely do, in fact.
