Howard Stern: Will Smith And Donald Trump 'Are The Same Guy'

Outspoken radio host Howard Stern said on his show Monday that Will Smith and Donald Trump are the “same guy,” claiming they both managed to skirt accountability because of who they are.

Stern, however, made the remark before Smith publicly apologized on Monday to Chris Rock for striking him on stage at the Oscars for a joke the comedian had made about his wife.

“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable,” Smith said as he apologized to Rock. “I was out of line and I was wrong.”

The consequences Smith may face for hitting Rock remain unclear. And critics continued to question why no action was taken immediately.

Stern said he was stunned to see Smith stride onstage at the Oscars in Los Angeles and strike Rock after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head. Pinkett Smith, Smith’s wife, suffers from the medical condition alopecia, which causes hair loss and balding.

“The first thing I said to myself was: ‘What the fuck is going on ... because where’s security?’ This is a live television event,” said the SiriusXM host.

“Not one person came out because he’s Will Smith,” Stern added. “This is how Trump gets away with shit. Will Smith and Trump are the same guy.”

Smith was “allowed to sit there for the rest of the awards” after “assaulting” Rock for making a joke, said Stern. “And he’s laughing it up and having a good time with his wife.”

The whole thing was the equilivent to Janet Jackson's nipple. It was a stunt kids. Anything to bring attention to themselves.
 
The country, albeit the world is going to hell in a handbasket and major media time and effort is being wasted on this stupid, PHONY, self promoting crap. GMAFB!
 
Howard is wrong, as per usual. Living in Queens is nothing like living in Bel Air. Also, Donald is slightly whiter than Will.

I had a love/hate relationship with the Stern show over the years.

When Stern first appeared on the NYC airwaves, he was seen as a poor man's Don Imus ... a rip off. But the man did have talent....his impersonations were deadly accurate, and his interview chops were on par with any MSM news anchor (over the years, he had some of the biggest names in entertainment on his shows). His shock jock schtick and his creepy crew appealed to the lowest common denominator in the listening audience...and it worked. As the FCC screwed Imus left and right, Stern filled the void, and his popularity grew.

Also, he had no real delusions as to his success. One time, Stern was asked to receive an award dealing with videos and such. When asked how was it that a guy from radio was taking an award in video, he replied, "Standards are at an all time low, and I'm here to represent that".

When he had his first short lived local TV show, he stated on air, "I love ratings, and I'll do anything to get them. I'm the only guy on TV that will tell you that. We're the stupidest show on TV and we're beating the networks in this time slot. I know what you want, and I'm willing to give it to you!"

That's why the guy is a millionaire and has had a nice niche on pay-for-listen radio. Like you, I'm surprised he's still around. But at least I don't see as much PR on him as it was when he was on commercial TV.

I think Murray Povich can retire that title with him. That was the stupidest show on TV. Gerry Springer gave a stab at it.

IMHO, all three have greatly contributed to the degradation of society.
