A North Carolina school board voted to forfeit all games against a rival team after a transgender athlete severely injured a player last month.

Video of the incident has gone viral across social media. One player, a biological male, spiked a volleyball, with an estimated speed of 70 mph, directly into the face of his female opponent.

The female fell backward, reportedly suffering a concussion, and has yet to be cleared to compete again.

In late September, the Cherokee County Board of Education voted 5-1 to forfeit all the Hiwassee Dam High School volleyball games against Highlands School, where the transgender student attends.

“The county will not participate in any volleyball games, varsity or junior varsity, against Highlands due to safety concerns,” the board explained.

Hiwassee Dam’s Vice Chair Jeff Martin supported the move because of the “competitive advantage” the Highlands’ transgender athlete holds.

“There is a competitive advantage and a safety concern for certain teams — it’s not the same for all teams,” Martin said.

Education First Alliance reported the Hiwassee Dam player is suffering long-term concussion symptoms and is still, weeks later, unable to play.

The presence of transgender athletes in sports, both in high school, college, and professional has been a controversial issue.

In July, a collegiate, biological male, transgender swimmer was nominated for the 2022 NCAA “Woman of the Year.”

One high school was forced to ban biological females from their own locker room due to the presence of a transgender on the volleyball team.

National File reported earlier this month: A Vermont high school has banned its girls’ volleyball team from their own locker room after the girls objected to sharing the changing facility with a male who has proclaimed womanhood and is playing on the girls’ team. The trans student has been accused of harassment and making “inappropriate comments” to female members of the team while they were getting changed.

Those women who are on an athletic scholarship have to participate or lose their scholarship. Injuries sustained while competing with other biological females are an accepted practice for female athletes.

It is wrong for biological males who think they are females to participate in women's sports.

Deep down, we know it is terribly wrong.

Unfortunately those here will ignore this...I referenced this incident yesterday...not a peep...
I guess they won't care until one of their own is injured...Or denied what they've worked so hard for...Things are going to change, though...Just not fast enough for that young lady...:(

Indeed.

There is a principle called fairness in America.

How anyone can call this fair is beyond comprehension.

Yet the left will embrace this because they support perversion and this is perversion.

Men who claim to be women are sick and those that support them are sick.

I have read that this young woman has not yet been cleared to play her sport. This freak who injured her and prevented her continued participation is an abomination.

Let’s be clear, there are two and only two genders and you do not get a choice in that decision.

Where are the rest of you far left loons willing to defend this freak who pretends to be a woman to dominate as a pretend woman what he could not dominate as a man?

He should have not been on the team...Will Thomas couldn't get enough attention swimming for the men...so th option was to put on a female suit and steal opportunities from the women...At least he didn't hurt anyone...
I wonder if this was the case in this HS incident...he didn't make the boys team, so....and now someone is really injured...
And the season is pretty much ruined for everyone...It's just not right...
I surely hope the young lady will recover, but head injuries can last a lifetime...
 
In collegiate sports, any male pretending to be a female and who receives a scholarship, has denied a female that scholarship.

She has been denied a scholarship to help her through college. She has been harmed by a pretend female.

Anyone want to defend this injustice to women?

Nothing says DNC more than proudly declaring support for womens rights while promoting their destruction with men who pretend to be women playing against them.

it didn't hit a male player however.. but it was hit by a male player... a spike over a net lower than a regulation height during a match between two men's teams.. injuries are always possible... but men should be playing on men's teams.. not women's teams... I'm not sure why that's even in question..

It sure didn’t hit a male player. But you people are making a big deal out of this concussion when ANYBODY getting hit in the head like that has the same results.

But this was a male spiking a ball into a female's face.. which wouldn't happen if it was a match between two women's teams.. it is a big deal..

The player spiked the ball. It happened to hit another in the face. How “brutal”!

You don’t have any idea what “would” or “would not” happen otherwise.

A man playing in a girl's sport. It's not surprising when a stronger spike gives a weaker player a concussion. Testosterone privilege.

if it was a match between two women's teams there definitely should not be a male spiking a ball into a female's face... so I absolutely have an idea of what would or would not happen... I'm not sure why you're arguing this... a male should not be on a woman's team...ever..
