BP plc (LON:BP) announced it has successfully started production from the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea, one of new major upstream projects the company brought into production in 2012, The Telegraph reports.

The field will ramp up production and is anticipated to reach around 125,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) monthly average rate (30,000 boepd net to BP) within the first six months of production and an expected maximum daily rate of approximately 165,000 boepd (40,000 boepd net BP) by year end. Following the announcement, LON:BP share price was reported as +3.94p at 428.4p at 9:31am.

Good for BP. At least the norwegians will not allow the sloppy management which wreaked havoc in the Gulf of Mexico.
