Here's what the Wisconsin Gov should do...

Gov. Scott Walker should deliver the following ultimatums; To the teachers out on an illegal strike, if you are not back at work on Monday, your job will be vacated, and you will forfeit your pensions. To the state legislators hold up in Illinois, if you are not at work Monday, your seat will be declared null and void, and a special election will be held within 30 days, to fill the vacancy.

It's time for the grown ups to behave like grown ups here, and stop this silliness.

can't happen.....teachers are the employees of local school districts, not of states....as for the legislators, it is wisest to let the idiots hide in Illinois until public sentiment causes their election to be "null and void" at the next election.....in the meanwhile, Republicans should open debate on the next controversial issue.....if the Dems continue to avoid the legislative chambers and raise voice to the issues, let them......

If teachers are employees of local school districts, why is the state paying their pensions? I believe they are state employees, and they enjoy state employee union benefits, which is the issue here.

Wisconsin can't allow legislators to remain out of the state until the next election, it would effectively shut down the state.

I don't believe the state IS paying their pensions, I believe local school districts are.....the state is acting to create uniformity across the state by saying unions are not permitted to negotiate certain things with local school boards, they can only negotiate wages.....

if the state is shut down it will be obvious that it's the Democrats hiding in Illinois that caused it.....the Democrats don't dare hold out that long...ignore them, set up the board for the next game.....they'll be along with their tail between their legs sooner or later....

They can hold no votes on anything, it is worthless to argue over nothing in order to hold no votes. Even if it is "controversial" they quite literally can hold no legal votes at the moment.

ah, but they can hold open hearing and debate on other issues......and if the Democrats show up later they can't complain that they had no opportunity to speak to the issue, since they foolishly decided to spend their time in Rockford instead of Madison.....when they do finally show up the legislature can take care of a dozen delayed matters as easily as one....
