And why wouldn’t they, they saw how in previous elections another adversary of the US did such and suffered zero consequences, in fact, their efforts were blatantly ignored and overlooked by an entire political party and major news network
 
of course they will try to influence us - we also try to influence other nations to act in our best interest

but the real story here is one political party played on this fear to undermine a duly elected official - and have faced no real consequences for that behavior
