I usually hate "where are they now?" kinds of threads, but Nugent's comments about Obama were FAR worse than what the Chicks said.

What's the scoop? Conservatives were going bananas after the Chicks made that comment. Organizing "patriotic" concerts in the same towns that the Chicks were playing in to draw attendance away from them, boycotting their records, shows & radio stations who played them, booing them whenever they were in public.

Are we in bizarro world or something? Where is my Laura Ingraham "shut up & sing" moment?

What hypocrisy? Everyone does a "where are they" now & again. This is probably my 2nd in 5 years or so. You do hundreds - my issue w/ you is one of scale.

You never get that; it's interesting.

I've been posting on this board almost since the beginning; if you can find more than 2 "where are they" threads by me, I'll take off. It's just not something I do a lot.

It's something you do a lot, though.

I mean, you have to know that "where are they" is your life, right? It's about half of what you do here.

Seriously, Yurt - I've never known someone who simply isn't aware of what they do as much as you. It's very strange.

TECHNICALLY Nugent was a Libertarian icon, not necessarily a Republican one. And since Nugent has chosen to endorse Romeny over Paul (to the shock of many), he's already alienated a great deal of his supporters. Of course this is my opinion and it's based solely on my experiences.

First of all, I love the Dixie Chicks. Talented babes. And they told the God's honest truth.
Second, Nugent should be locked up for his commentary. I bet he won't say it again.
 
I seem to recall that the Chicks were way more popular and successful than the Nuge at the time.
