That's his purported stance. His history is what's working against him. The man has shown a great interest in cinematic violence, and I hardly believe a desensitized Hollywood bastard like Weinstein is going to have an epiphany like this over one tragedy. I, and I'm sure others, have no problem with someone owning a gun or two for protection or hunting.
We do have a problem with someone owning dozens of guns and automatic/semi-automatic weapons whose only purpose is to kill lots of people.
It's history versus a bunch of words. Let the man prove himself, then we'll discuss. You're far too forgiving, Howey.So rather than praising him for admitting maybe now is the time to take the emphasis off the violence and work together in and out of Hollywood to end these tragedies, you defer to his past as a filmmaker?
